How do I add items to Gradebook categories?


When you add a graded activity to your course, the grade item is automatically created in your gradebook.

If you need to add an item that is not accounted for in your online course, you can add a grade item.

Prepare:

When you add a graded activity to your course, the grade item is automatically created in your gradebook.

 

  1. Locate the Administration block and click Gradebook setup.

     
     
  2. Scroll down and select the Add grade item button.

     
  3. In the Grade item section, click Show more.

     
  4. Enter an Item name.
  5. Confirm or select Grade type.
  6. Enter Maximum grade value.  This is the amount of points this assignment is worth.
  7. In the Parent category section, click Show more.

     
  8. Confirm or selct the Grade category for the Grade item then click on Save changes.
          

  9. The Manual item will appear in the gradebook. If you did not put it in a category, it will appear at the bottom of the gradebook.
