How do I join a Collaborate session from Moodle?


  1. Log-in to Moodle and navigate to your course.
     
  2. Find the Collaborate activity link and click on it.

     
  3. Once in the activity, click on the Join session button.

     
  4. Collaborate will open in a new window.
     

Enabling Your Camera and Microphone

  1. Open the Collaborate panel.

  2. Click on the My Settings icon.

  3. If the Audio and Video Settings options are not already open, click to open it.
     
  4. Click Set Up your Camera and Microphone.
     
  5. You may have to enable access to Adobe Flash. If so click on Allow and then Close.
  6. The Audio test (1 of 2) screen gives you the opportunity to test your microphone.
    • You can select a specific microphone if your computer has more than one.
    • Speak into the microphone to test the sound entering the computer.
    • When done, click the Yes it’s working button.
       
  7. The Video Test (2 of 2) screen
    • You can select a specific camera if your computer has more than one.
    • Speak into the microphone to test the sound entering the computer.
    • When done, click the Yes it’s working button.
       
  8. When you enter a collaborate session, you will need to turn your microphone on and your camera on to share your voice and video.

    • Click on the microphone icon, to toggle from mute audio to share audio.
    • Click on the camera icon, to toggle from mute videoto share video.
       
    • You can also press Alt+C to turn the toggle the camera, and Alt+M to toggle the Microphone.
  9. You now can interact in a Collaborate session.
